WELCOME
The Western Edge Cluster (WEC) provides quality Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs for secondary school students from Melton, Caroline Springs, Fraser Rise and Bacchus Marsh.

The Cluster is made up of Government, Independent and Catholic schools. The WEC arrangement is founded on a spirit of co-operation and with the purpose of providing a wider breadth of learning opportunities for all our senior secondary students.
Our nine secondary colleges and the fourteen (14) VET programs are delivered across five of our schools. Four (4) have industry specific Trade Training Centres with state-of-the-art facilities to deliver Building and Construction, Electrotechnology (Electrical), Engineering and Salon Assistant (Hairdressing).

All programs are completed over two years, as part of a student's VCE or VCAL and provide an additional formal Certificate II or Certificate III qualification. VET programs provide a direct parthway into work, an apprenticeship or further study in TAFE or University.

OUR STAFF
All schools have a VET Coordinator to help their students choose a VET subject. They also provide ongoing support over the two-year programs undertaken in Years 10, 11 and 12. Like a VCE subject students may start their VET course in Year 10.
